Struggling with midterms? Are you overwhelmed with work? Do you have three billion assignments due tonight and are still trying to figure out a last-minute Halloween costume? Maybe you’re tempted to throw your hands in the air and just give up, but aren’t sure if it’s too soon to do so? Well, let me help you out.
Firstly, it’s never too soon to give up. Heck, I gave up years ago. There is nothing wrong with giving up. The beauty of giving up is that you don’t even have to do anything. But if you’re still unsure whether it’s the right choice for you, let me put it into perspective.
That exam that you have on Wednesday? You can forget about it! No need to go through your notes for the 1,000th time, no need to go to office hours to try to understand information that you’re going to forget about in two days and no need to frantically Google questions the morning of. All you have to do is just give up!
Still have doubts? Maybe your friends and family are trying their hardest to encourage you to persist? Don’t worry about it! You can give up on your own time. Maybe it will feel better to give up tomorrow, next week or next semester. That’s okay! Some people run the race a little slower than others, but we’ll all quit before we reach the finish line.
The choice is yours to make, just remember that every minute that you spend studying is another minute that could’ve been spent scrolling through Instagram Reels in bed.
