Despite an extremely successful season for the women’s basketball team, the Blues came just short of defeating George Fox University this past Saturday.

According to the Whitman Athletics website, the Blues picked up the pace in the fourth quarter as sophomore Haylie McCracken and senior Mady Burdett put the Blues in the lead by a six point margin. However, George Fox clinched the win, bringing the game to end with a score of  57-55.

Although it was a disappointing defeat for the team, their season is not yet over. Women’s basketball will face off against Wheaton College on Friday, March 6.
