It all began on a Wednesday. Wednesdays are the busiest days, even though I was not expecting that to be the case. I have one class on Wednesday, so I thought they would generally be relaxing––that is until I got caught up in the tidal wave that is Wednesday Production Night.
I usually start working on illustrations that have been turned in to our joint dropbox account at around 11:00. This is rudimentary color correction, resizing the pictures for the website, and making sure that everything is the right quality and type of file. Then I take a break until about 7:30 which is when the craziness and shenanigans begin.
This is when Sean McNulty and I realize that we have to figure out a catchy cover image for the front page.
This is also when Sean and I decide to that we should learn how to use Adobe Illustrator. For the next two to hours we watch tutorial videos, so we can use simple tools in Illustrator, and maybe come up with an image that doesn’t look like a two-year old scribbled on the wall with a sharpie.
In between tutorials, I struggle to learn how to play marathon tetras so that I can battle Blair Hanley Frank in the unlikely chance that I might succeed, but without holding onto any real hope.
This puts us at about 10:00, which is when I begin to add illustrations to the web articles, which takes about an hour, after resizing and adding captions is over.
After this is done, I might try to sway Pam London into learning how to Gangnam dance with me, but more than likely, I will be denied, and just attempt to recreate Psy’s lasso move all the way back to my dorm room alone, where I might start homework.
And then it all ends on a Wednesday. 11:59… Bedtime for Bonzo (Mega brownie points if you get this reference!)
