KWCW Show of the Week: Rainbow Pancake Breakfast Club

Show Name: Rainbow Pancake Breakfast Club
Host: Jack Coppinger
Show Time: Mondays, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Dubbed the “best audio pancakes you will ever hear” by its host, this show serves up all rock from every era, with the occasional hip-hop beat, community sports commentary and as much description as possible about the songs. Song sets are grouped by era, theme and

overall sound. In the most recent show, a song by The Gaslight Anthem followed a Bruce Springsteen song because the two recently toured together. The program often has themed shows, including last year’s “Dylan and his Derivatives,” which played songs by Bob Dylan, along with covers of his songs and songs supposedly influenced by Dylan. Coppinger encourages people to make requests, rarely turns down a song and gets about one call a week, often from prisoners at the Washington State Penitentiary.

Highlights from this week’s show:

Bruce Springsteen “Land Of Hope And Dreams”

WALK THE MOON “Anna Sun”

The Gaslight Anthem “The ’59 Sound”

Divine Fits “Shivers”

Hot Hot Heat “You Owe Me an IOU”

Barenaked Ladies “ONE WEEK”
