Whitman alumni have a long list of recognitions, but here’s a new one for the list: Adam West ’51 became the first Whittie to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, April 5.
West, famous for his roles as TV’s Batman and the eponymous mayor on Quahog on “Family Guy,” received the award after being nominated in 2011 and fans raised $30,000 to cover expenses of the star.
West, a literature major and psychology minor, kept busy at Whitman; he was a member of the debate team and Beta Theta Pi, wrote for The Pioneer and was involved in sports such as swimming, skiing and water polo.
