Missionary Mainstage makes mark

A small group of students met at Kimball Theatre to listen to and tell stories at Whitman’s first Missionary Mainstage on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Based loosely around the prompt “Winter Wonderland”, students’ stories varied from once-in-a-lifetime moments to small, mundane personal experiences still worth sharing.

For example, junior Alex Pearson told a funny tale of a family Christmas where his grandmother aspired to create a Christmas tree out of sausage, while junior Noah Lerner shared his story about a very rainy family vacation to Disneyland.

Sophomore Ryann Savino, an audience member, stated that she would consider participating in the next Missionary Mainstage event.

“I’d do it,” Savino said. “Listening to their stories makes you think of your own.”

While Kimball Theater had some some empty seats, Savino believed that this made the event “more personal.”
