Luis Alberto Urrea, author of “Devil’s Highway,” the first-year summer reading book, came to Cordiner Hall on Thursday, Sept. 27. Urrea spoke to students, staff, faculty and community members about his experiences researching for the book. He also spoke about his upbringing as the child of a Mexican father and an American mother, which spurred his interest in immigration issues.
