Second-annual Day of the Dead festival draws crowd for art

Attendees of second annual Dia de los Muertos celebration could see students' finished woodblocks inked up and pressed into prints via a steamroller, buy some authentic Mexican food or merchandise or even get in on the printmaking fun themselves by carving their own mini wood block to press onto a paper or t-shirt alongside the official student prints.

This week, The Pioneer went to the first annual Dia de los Muertos community festival to check out the student artwork. We also chatted with alumnus Stanley Wilson '66 about his 2004 thriller novel set in Walla Walla's supposedly haunted cemetery.
