Office of Admission prepares for Admitted Students Day

Hundreds of admitted students, both prospective and already committed, will be welcomed to Whitman this Saturday for Admitted Students Day 2015. The day will include opportunities for students to sample classes, tour the campus and attend various informations sessions.

Applications Up By 40 Percent, Acceptance Rate More Selective for Class of 2018

Number of applicants to the college rose by 40 percent this year, resulting in one of the most selective acceptance rates in recent memory. The office mailed out acceptance letters to potential members of the class of 2018 last week.

Adam Miller, an alumnus of Claremont McKenna College was recently hired as the new Director of Admissions. Not only was he previously the associate dean of admissions in 2010, but he was also a professional baseball player.

About 205 admitted students, along with 200 of their parents, got a taste of life at Whitman during Admitted Students� Day on Saturday, April 14. The day included such activities as sample classes, a mock Humans vs. Zombies mission, a tour of residence halls and an opportunity to learn about programs such as community service and off-campus studies.
