The Whitman women’s basketball team can take some solace in the fact that the team that ousted them from the conference tournament eleven days ago coasted into the NCAA Division III Sweet Sixteen on Saturday.
Rated either No. 2 or 3 in the country depending on the poll, George Fox crushed Chapman University 83-40 after receiving a first round bye in the NCAA tournament. The Bruins face Oglethorpe University next on Friday, March 13. Oglethorpe won its first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship earlier this season.
