A special announcement from The Pioneer:

Over the summer, we have been working to organize a project called the Northwest News Network.

The premise is simple: we thought we should be more informed about the news, events and issues going on at other colleges in the Northwest, so we will be receiving and publishing stories from student-run newspapers at local peer institutions, as well as sharing weekly stories from The Pioneer with them.

The papers we are partnering with include George Fox University’s The Crescent, Pacific Lutheran University’s The Mooring Mast, Whitworth University’s The Whitworthian and Willamette University’s The Willamette Collegian.

We are also working with The Collegian at Walla Walla University to generate cross-communication between students at Whitman and the University.

A page dedicated to this project will be added to our website soon. Please stay tuned for more information, and keep an eye out for stories from these other papers to be published in The Pioneer print and online editions.
