Breaking: Whitman student Jonathan Weinberg wins seat on Concord School Board

Junior Jonathan Weinberg has won a seat on the Concord School Board in his home city of Concord, New Hampshire.

According to the Concord Monitor, Weinberg won the District B race, representing wards 5, 6 and 7. According to an article from the Concord Monitor, he beat out Melissa Clark (2,151) and Allie Maltais (1,696) with 2,444 votes.

Weinberg addressed his win in an email to The Wire.

“I am beyond excited to get to work.” He said. “Young people are the backbone of our country and providing a platform for younger individuals to feel like they can be civically and politically engaged is one of my main goals as a newly elected board member.”
