A week of prayer for WCF

The clock strikes midnight as a student prays early Thursday morning inside a prayer tent set up in the amphitheater. The prayer tent, open 24 hour a day for the week of April 12-19, is an annual event for the Whitman Christian Fellowship. “God meets us here,” said Junior Nina Neff. “It’s a space that’s made for God to come to. We can just come with the confidence of knowing, ‘We’ve built this for you, we’ve prepared this for you.” And really any time that you ask God to come, He shows up, which is really exciting and meaningful.” She believes night is a particularly special time for prayer and worship. “I think there’s something special that happens at night because you’re giving up sleep and you’re giving up homework time and it’s harder to come here,” Neff said. “I think in a certain way that makes you more open to here God’s voice.”
