Huichica Fest

On Sept. 14 and 15, the Huichica Music Festival hosted its micro-festival in Walla Walla, Washington. Located on Stella’s Homestead, headliners included Yo La Tengo, Moon Duo and the Fruit Bats.

“One of the goals of the festival,” said History Professor John Cotts, “was to blur the line between artist and audience, and that was certainly my experience. And how wonderful that essentially all the vendors (Andre’s, Bright’s, etc.) were local.”
The best vineyards across the country have hosted Huichica. This year, Huichica has expanded its reach to Walla Walla, Washington. The festival began in Sonoma, California, in 2010, then five years later added Hudson Valley, New York, to its destination list. Huichica will return to Walla Walla next September for more crafted music and wine.
