The Wire will be providing updates on Senate elections across the US. We will be using data provided by the Associated Press, FiveThirtyEight and The New York Times.
Senate:
The Democrats have secured 48 seats and the Republicans 48. This is a +1 seat net gain for the Dems. There are four seats still open. Both senate races in Georgia will go to a Runoff.
House:
The Democrats hold 216 house seats and the Republicans 196. Despite the +5 net gain for Republicans, the Democrats are projected to maintain control. There are 23 seats still up in the air.
