Thursday, March 7th

4:00 to 9:00 pm in the Alexander Stage, Harper Joy Theatre

Showcase your theatre talents and sign up to audition for Life Is A Dream. The script calls for three main male characters as well as two main female characters in addition to supporting roles. However, gender and race are not determining factors of casting. Familiarise yourself with the play and prepare a monologue of your choice from any classical play.

7:00 pm in Kimball Theatre in Hunter Conservatory

The Visiting Writers Series presents Shaindel Beers, a poet and writer of fiction and creative nonfiction. She is an instructor of English at Blue Mountain Community college in Pendleton, Oregon, and has published worked in numerous journals and anthologies. She won the White Pine Poetry Prize in 2017 for her most recent collection of poems, Secure Your Own Mask, and is also the poetry editor of Contrary, an online literary magazine.

7:00 to 8:00 pm, Chism Recital Hall

Enjoy a night of music with the Whitman College Jazz Faculty, presenting The Music of Cole Porter. Known for his contributions to the Broadway musical stage, Cole Porter was an American composer and songwriter renown in musical theatre. Join the Whitman music community as the celebrate the some of his most famous works. This event is free and open to the public.
