The Associated Students of Whitman College (ASWC) raised the student fee to $360 for the next academic year, an increase of $10 from last year. Senators hope the increase will allow more funding for the Whitman Events Board (WEB), clubs, campus media organizations and other aspects of student life funded by ASWC.

ASWC is working to alleviate pressure from an increase in club funding requests, as well as balance the student fee and lifecycle fund. While ASWC funding has remained relatively stable for the last five years, the recent budget crunch raises the question of whether this austerity is the beginning of a longer trend.
