Life on the Whitman men's golf team has not been easy as of late. The team has had to deal with horrible weather, defecting players, and a conference that ranks as one of the best in the country. Despite these challenges, the Missionaries still believe that they can overcome anything their tough situation throws at them.
This past weekend, the Whitman men’s golf team headed to Pacific University to compete in the Boxer Classic golf tournament. Whitman finished third as an overall team, scoring at the six-team Boxer Classic with a two-day, 36-hold score of 609.
Whitman golf simultaneous reached its peak and valley this past weekend as the women's golf team took home the Northwest Conference Championship while the men found themselves in a disappointing sixth place finish.
This week's sports profile centers on up-and-coming golf star Scott Martin. Martin, a first-year from Escondido, CA, was integral in the men's second place finish at the NWC Spring Classic two weeks ago.
