Women’s Basketball Leaves Strong Legacy

The 2013-2014 version of the Whitman women's basketball team will go down as the most successful basketball team to ever don the maize and blue. The Missionaries boasted an undefeated regular season, hosted a Sectional and a Regional in the NCAA Tournament, and finished second in the country after a loss in the National Championship game to FDU-Florham.

Whitman Women’s Basketball to Play for National Title

With an 85-70 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (26-4) Friday night, the Missionaries (30-1) advanced to the first national championship game in program history. Whitman will play for the Division III national title Saturday night against Farleigh Dickinson University, Florham.

Women’s Basketball Moves to 18-0 With Win Over Pacific

In Friday night’s game against the Pacific University Boxers, the Whitman women’s basketball team did what they’ve been doing all season long; shot consistently, defended aggressively, rebounded well, and won. With their 65-55 victory over the Boxers, the Missionaries move to 18-0 on the season and 9-0 in Northwest Conference play.

Women’s basketball team assists Walla Walla community girls

This past Sunday the Whitman women's basketball team put on its first skills camp of the year. The camp provides an important outreach opportunity for the team, as they pass on their knowledge and skills to the basketball youth of Walla Walla.
As over 1,200 fans screamed and chanted in the stands, the Whitman mens basketball team pulled off an incredible victory over Whitworth University — the #1-ranked DIII team in the nation — last Tuesday, February 15th. Following nearly two hours of fast-paced competitive play, the Missionary men scored 17 points in the remaining five minutes for the win.
