Whitman Model United Nations club will travel to Los Angeles April 19-22 for a crisis focused conference hosted by Model United Nations at the University California, Los Angeles. The conference in Los Angeles comes with a high price tag for the club and ASWC. Attending conferences, the major activity of WhitMUN, requires a large budget. This year, the club’s budget is $5,231 and the club has received $5,734 from the Travel and Student Development Fund (T&SD), receiving a total of $10,940 from ASWC.

ASWC voted to increase the student fee by 20 dollars for the 2012-2013 academic year during their senate meeting last Sunday Feb. 26.

Every year, the Finance Committee of the Associated Students of Whitman College (ASWC) makes a budget for the school year that represents the needs of the student body. Looking at the ASWC budget for this school year (fiscal year 2012) compared to the budget for last school year (fiscal year 2011), there are some notable amendments.
