The Whitman women's lacrosse team wrapped up a long and successful season Sunday with a victory over Gonzaga University to claim third place overall at the Northwest Women's Lacrosse League championship tournament. The third-place finish was the highest for the team in the history of the club.
For the Whitman women's lacrosse team, it doesn't matter if they are playing fellow Division III teams or nationally ranked Division I programs - competition is competition. The team is doing more than just holding their own in the Northwest Women's Lacrosse League, as it is sitting in fourth place looking at a chance to make the championship tournament hosted here at Whitman.
