The idea of Israel and Iran striking each other directly was unimaginable a year ago. The two nations have been engaged in a shadow war for years, with Iran funding proxy strikes against Israel by Hamas, Hezbollah and other militant organizations, while Israel targets Iranian nuclear scientists, Iranian supply convoys in Syria and similar targets. However, the two nations chose not to bomb one another directly until very recently. What was once unthinkable has now become commonplace.
Iran attacked Israel on Oct. 1 with ballistic missiles following the killing of leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas by Israel. In this attack Iran launched almost 180 missiles at Israel; the majority were intercepted by U.S.-led ally forces and Israel’s air defenses. However, several struck other locations, including aviation bases. In response to those attacks, Israel vowed to retaliate but never specified when or how.
Uncertainty is an essential part of the political playground in almost every subject, but it was hardly surprising or unpredictable that Israel launched a multi-wave attack against several Iranian military installations as a retaliation promised by Netanyahu. Israel’s attack on Iran finally happened in the early hours of Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024.
At first sight, this war simply seems like a conflict between Iran and Israel, but thinking deeper I approach this topic more as an issue of Iran attacking itself rather than Israel attacking Iran or the other way around! The Islamic Republic of Iran has involved itself in a war that is serving as extremist behavior. Iran considers Israel anti-Islamic and wants to destroy Israel because of Islamic fundamentalism and exporting Islam to the whole world.
The government of Iran is showing off its military responses and weapons on national TV, saying how proud people should be of the Islamic Republic of Iran for saving the people through their military. In reality, the military installations are made by stealing the money that belongs to the people of Iran, which should be spent on the people of Iran who are suffering from multiple economic crises.
The money that belongs to the people of Iran is instead confidently used by the government for the war they started, then when they defend themselves from a response, the government acts as if they have done a favor to people and now people should praise the Islamic Republic of Iran?
Iran’s government sells oil and minerals at low prices to fund military supplies, often at the expense of its citizens. Domestically, it raises taxes and increases the cost of essentials like corn, oil and flour to fund its military initiatives. Additionally, Iran offers free medical care and support to groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, while financial hardship intensifies within Iran. The government has also been linked to international gangs and smuggling networks to secure further military resources.
The funding that is supposed to be invested in the national benefit and focused on raising the life quality in Iran is instead being used to enhance the war quality in the name of Islam.
Politicians seem to never grow out of their childhood toys – they simply obtain a bigger budget and a global platform. They are using ballistic missiles in place of Nerf guns, with every news conference sounding like a game of “my toy is bigger than yours.”
The sandbox suddenly transforms into international waterways, where each playmate aspires to be the hardest on the playground. One leader threatens to launch a missile and another positions themselves with a counter-defense system. They truly see this all as a little game.
As humorous as it might sound, I would diagnose politicians with Strategic Reality Disorder, where they are completely detached from reality! Ignoring the fact that people are being killed by the government’s will and not a click on a computer as if they are playing “Call Of Duty.”
In particular, the Islamic Republic of Iran thinks their army is as strong as Israel in this real-life “Call Of Duty,” knowing Israel secretly transported an explosive device into the guest house in Tehran where Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas’ Political Bureau, was staying.
The bombings of Ismail Haniyeh were so perfectly targeted by Israel, as if Netanyahu had received a formal invitation from the guest house, to welcome Ismail Haniyeh to Tehran with their weapons!
Considering all of these, it is still hard to believe some people in Tehran were celebrating the night Israel attacked Iran as if the Israeli missiles seen in the sky were fireworks and not a sign of war!
However, people in Iran, more specifically the majority of those who hold anti-government beliefs, maintain that “the enemy of our enemy is our friend,” which explains their excitement and the throwing of parties in the city after Israel attacked the military of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
