This week in ASWC

The Senate met for its first session Sunday evening. Senate Meetings are open to the student body and will be held Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m. November 2 and 16, and December 7 in RCC G02. Students are welcome bring business to address during the Open Forum portion of the agenda. Sunday’s business included the approval of the Drama, Aikido, Pre-Health, and Model United Nation clubs. Congratulations to these clubs for receiving official ASWC recognition! In gratitude to ASWC for its support, Jessie Conrad and Tim Shaddix of Whitman Direct Action gave a presentation on their trip to India where they held a conference on clean water in Mumbai for community leaders.

Congratulations to newly confirmed Nominations Committee members Lauren Wenzel, Jerreh Badjie, Ruby Glaser, and Ross Eustis! These four, along with Nominations Chair Julia Nelson will soon begin work on hiring students to leadership positions on campus.

Get pumped: Seattle hip-hop group Blue Scholars will be coming to campus Sunday October 19. Tickets will be available in the Reid foyer shortly after Four-Day.
