It has become clear to us that things are pretty bad. Not cataclysmic yet, but there is cause for concern. The world is getting hotter, jobs are getting scarce, and a certain orange buffoon is making things worse. Still, we have been able to maintain assurances, meaning cats and dogs aren’t living together yet. But if things really did get that bad, surely it would be a good thing? You, unfortunately, would be sorely mistaken, as there are at least eight reasons why this outcome would not be good.
- Disease: If ever in prolonged contact, it’s inevitable that diseases of one shall cross species, spreading it further. We’ve already seen one pandemic, do we really need more?
- Conflict: Disagreement between these pets will happen, especially with ever shrinking couch availability. With so few rest spots, couches may become hotly contested battlegrounds.
- Hair overflow: With the prior points in-mind, cats and dogs will evolve to be hairier. If not managed, hair outputs of one pair would fill up an entire kitchen.
- Food requirements: Cats and dogs require different diets, and attending for one is already a harrowing task. With how they may fight over food, you’re going to need more than one bag a day.
- Bird decline: Any bird in the path this pairing is sure to meet a quick end. It doesn’t matter if they’re the sweetest pets, the ecosystem will suffer.
- Bird retaliation: The birds being hunted will retaliate with extreme prejudice against those who allowed this. Crows shall steal coins, pigeons will poop on your cars, and Goosezilla may be unleashed.
- Slapstick: Mice may taunt this pairing of animals, resulting in severe property damage caused by this mayhem, usually with cartoonishly large mallets.
- Ghosts: Nothing to do with cats and dogs specifically, but It’s quite well spoken in the “Ghostbusters” that there’s a correlation between this scenario and ghosts.
As someone who has lived with both, trust me, this information will help you prepare. Keep supplied, social distance your pets, and if ghosts appear, you know who to call.
