Beauty and Fear: How an Understanding of Reptiles Can Lead us to a More Meaningful, Peaceful Existence

Come hear a reading from renowned fiction author and Columbia University Professor Ben Marcus. Apart from his record as an accomplished novelist, he has also published essays and stories in The New Yorker, Harper’s, The Paris Review and more.
Blue Moon Submissions Due

Whitman’s literary magazine, blue moon, is accepting submissions of art, prose, poetry, and digital media up until February 1. They encourage every student considering submitting to do so, all pieces will be evaluated anonymously, and blue moon wants all voices to be heard and represented in their 32 volume. Whitman College Orchestra and Chamber Singers Winter Concert
February 4 at 7 p.m. in the Chism Recital Hall
The Whitman Orchestra and the Whitman Chamber Singers will be performing there winter concert this coming Monday. The event is free and open to the public.
One-Act Play Festival
February 7-10 with evening performances 8 p.m. matinees at 2 p.m. in the Harper Joy Theater, Alexander Stage
Attend the annual One-Act Play Festival, where the top three finalists share their student-run pieces to the public. Students are encouraged to attend the productions and vote for the play they believe deserves the winning title. Tickets go on sale two weeks in advance of opening night.
