Men’s tennis launches into spring season

The Whitman men's tennis team faced the teeth of a challenging non-Conference schedule when they traveled to the East Coast on Feb. 17 to play No. 23 ranked Rhodes, Kalamazoo, and No. 22 ranked Mary Washington. Overcoming time zone differences, cramps, fatigue and every other injury in the book, the men took all three matches.

Scholastic pressure at Whitman can be tremendous, especially as midterms approach and the end of the semester looms ahead. In light of this, some students turn to non-prescription Adderall to help them manage their heavy workload.

Biology major changes increase flexibility

Starting next fall, biology majors at Whitman will have a more flexible set of requirements to meet in order to receive their degrees. The changes have been made in response to rising enrollment rates at Whitman, which have saturated required biology classes and made it difficult for students to register for the courses they need to take.

Ellen Bishop pens field guide to Northwest geology

Visiting Assisting Professor of Environmental Studies & Geology Ellen Bishop's upcoming book "Field Guide to the Pacific North West Geology" will be published in 2013. In it, Bishop intends to tell the stories and histories of the land surrounding Whitman.

Undocumented Students Statement approved by Board of Trustees

Bike share program works through challenges, towards completion

Current sophomores and Bike Share interns Andrew Patel and Sara Kleinkopf hope to make Whitman more accessible and make bicycling more convenient for both on- and off-campus students by completing a bike rental program that was started by the previous Bike Share interns last spring.
