Earthquake in Italy may set new ethical guidelines for scientists

In 2009, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake killed more than 300 people in L'Aquila, Italy. It also destroyed many of its historic buildings, along with a university dormitory and a hospital.

Library café opens after fixing sewage pipe damage

For the entire first month of this school year, Whitman students working into the late hours of the night at Penrose Library have had to go without the emporium of delights that the Library Café provides. On Monday, Sept. 26, that period of hunger and strife finally came to an end, giving tired library-goers one more reason to procrastinate.
