It would seem a fly fishing club would fit well within the Whitman environment, yet over the years, it has struggled to stay afloat. The club has been started a few times by a group of proactive students, only to fall apart after their graduation.

I think sometimes the pancake is the unsung hero of breakfast. As ubiquitous as the greasy spoon, to non-dairy creamer and weak coffee, I think many people bypass the short stack of buttermilk flapjacks in lieu of her fancier cousins, French toast and Belgian waffles.

Whitman as an institution seems to overlook student interest in substantive, pre-professional experiences. Considering the ample ways to provide such opportunities, the college owes it to these interested students to provide adequate resources.
