There are moments in life that can capture the true nature of a man’s soul. This underpaid reporter experienced one such moment last week. Gazing down upon the plebeian horde below him from his secret office in the Clocktower of the Memorial Building, Whitman College President Jorge Ponts said one word to this underfed reporter before he descended and made his annual “Kick off the Year" speech on the steps of the Memorial Building: “Sheep.”

After flooding campus with their famous white folders throughout April, the members of the Whitman College admitted class of 2018 have made their decisions. Of the 1,441 admitted first-year students, 381 have already committed to Whitman, and the Office of Admission plans to wait out a few more before admitting students from the waiting list. Transfer students have until May 20 to enroll.

Commissioner Adam Silver has given Donald Sterling, the maligned owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, a lifetime ban after his racist comments were made public. This is a rarely used punishment in the sporting world and only invoked in drastic circumstances. The majority of the viewing public however did not see this as an overreaction by Silver, but instead completely justified in its severity.
