Dean Snider, the Whitman College athletic director, worked with next season’s captains searching for and interviewing prospective coaches to take over the team next season. After a lengthy interview process that looked at over 50 different potential coaches, they finally chose Williamson, a choice that Snider is very excited about.
Every night, like clockwork, Matt Mounier, a junior guard on the men's basketball team, plans out his schedule for the next day – down to the hour – and records it in a notebook. The reason for this rigid schedule? According to Mounier, he constantly strives for success.
With a 17-0 record so far in the 2013-2014 season, sitting atop the NWC and ranked #3 nationally, the Whitman women’s basketball team is following up their Elite Eight National Championship run last season with a very promising season so far. This level of dominance is due in large part to Missionaries head coach Michelle Ferenz, who earlier this season became the winningest coach in Whitman women's basketball history.
Coming off a strong season last year, the women's basketball team looks to improve behind the leadership and versatility of star senior Sarah Anderegg.
Hannah Linsenmayer has been pivotal to the Missionaries' recent success and will continue to help the team throughout the season with her leadership and skill set.
