Bitter rivalries look to be rekindled as the Whitman women's basketball team faces the No. 3 ranked team in the nation, George Fox, on Feb. 26 in their first playoff game since the 05-06 season.
In conference play, George Fox dominated Whitman, rolling to victory by a margin of 10 points or more in both games the teams played during the season.
The Alpine and Nordic Ski teams both raced to an awesome finish last weekend (Feb. 19-21) in their respective West Regional Championship races. The Alpine team competed at the Mt. Rose Ski Resort near Reno, Nevada and the Nordic team competed at the Auburn Ski Club near Truckee, California.

Senior women's tennis player Katie Oost dropped just one singles game of the twenty four she played over the weekend, beating opponents from Pacific and George Fox, 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-0 respectively. Oost carried this dominance to doubles where she posted two victories at No. 2 doubles with teammate Divneet Kaur. Oost and Kaur beat Dayna Wong and Jaime Yoshino from Pacific 8-3 and Courtney Banks and Betsy Ann Penman of George Fox 8-5.
In the fall, Oost teamed with singles No. 1 Elise Otto to win the ITA Northwest Fall championship. The win took her to nationals and made her an all-american.
To put it plainly, Whitman swimming dominated at their conference championships, which took place from Feb. 13-15.
