Although it's only half the size of Rhode Island, the Osa houses 2.5 percent of the Earth's biodiversity and contains the last standing virgin rain forest in the area. Over the course of the summer, this astounding statistic became my reality.

Last Thursday, April 4, Whitman Events Board Creative Arts organized an origami paper folding workshop in Reid Coffeehouse. While the event was met with low attendance, those who came were supplied with plain color and patterned paper and large instruction sheets for a wide variety of designs including boxes, birds, and balloons. Students were able to take their creations home with them. Pioneer photographer Faith Bernstein brings us photos.
