This past weeks' Big Idea Talk at the Walla Walla Public library featured Associate Professor of Politics Aaron Bobrow-Strain. With a set of panelists including Welcome Table Farm Owner Emily Asmus, Farm to School Coordinator Beth Thiel and Director of Corporate Responsibility at Broetie Orchards Roger Bairstow. Bobrow-Strain led a discussion on "The Future of Food."

A small group of Whitman community members met on the south steps of Memorial to honor of the victims and families of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The event, which was hosted by the Muslim Student Associate began the vigil singing a verse of John Lennon's "Imagine." After, students discussed their memories of the day and the subsequent days after. Many students indicated that though years pass and vivid memories of the day fade, annual vigils allow them to mourn and reflect on the day.
