Support group helps students live with addiction

Sober at Whitman, a support group for Whitman community members struggling with addiction, recently began its second year on campus. Alcohol is the primary focus of Sober at Whitman, but the group is not intended to be exclusionary. It serves anyone with addictive relationships to alcohol or drugs.

SCOREs find success despite low participation rate

In 2013, SCOREs had over 30 first-year participants on three trips. This year, 18 first-years were spread over four trips with the addition of the Community and Identity SCORE.

After flooding campus with their famous white folders throughout April, the members of the Whitman College admitted class of 2018 have made their decisions. Of the 1,441 admitted first-year students, 381 have already committed to Whitman, and the Office of Admission plans to wait out a few more before admitting students from the waiting list. Transfer students have until May 20 to enroll.
