Student organizations Whitman Teaches the Movement (WTTM) and Students for Education Reform (SFER) hosted a discussion of civil rights and social justice over ice cream on Wednesday afternoon. The event sought to foster conversations about social justice issues as well as to serve as a recruiting push for both groups.

Members of Whitman’s Green Leaders program are currently investigating ways to increase environmentally conscious practices in cooperation with Bon Appétit in Whitman’s dining halls and cafes. In recent weeks, Green Chief Officer Jacob Frei and other members of Whitman’s Green Leaders met with Bon Appétit General Manager Roger Edens for an environmentally focused tour of dining facilities on campus.

Yearbook expands focus with new gallery

By fall of this year, some of the pictures and quotes used in the 2013-2014 yearbook were assembled to create the art gallery currently residing in the Stevens Gallery. Waiilatpu members hope that this is only a first step, with the goal being to feature the same students from this month's gallery in a new spring gallery coinciding with the release of the 2014-2015 yearbook.
