Whitman Christian Fellowship is organizing a fundraiser for non-profit organization Speak Up for the Poor, which aims to help adolescent girls get out of the sex trafficking industry.
Students and community members gathered on the steps of the Memorial Building Wednesday night to publicly confess their privilege as part of an event sponsored by the Whitman Christian Fellowship (WCF) entitled “We Are the 1%â€.
Next summer, members of the Whitman Christian Fellowship will find themselves about as far from campus as a group could be. For six weeks, members will participate in a cultural exchange mission in China, coordinated by the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, a nationwide evangelical organization that works to establish religious communities on higher-education campuses.
