This past weekend, the new tennis courts paid huge dividends as the Whitman men's tennis team hosted and dominated the annual Fall USTA/ITA Regional Championships.
Whitman tennis pulled off an NWC championship tournament double this past weekend, as both the men's and women's teams capped off fantastic seasons with conference tournament titles and automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament.
Men's and women's tennis are the first of potentially several sports to undergo changes in the NWC's postseason structure. Coaches from the soccer and baseball programs across the conference are looking into the addition of a conference championship tournament to conclude the regular season, which would provide the NWC's automatic qualifier bid to the NCAA tournament.
