President Bridges talks goals, challenges in annual ‘State of the College’ address

President Bridges addressed staff, faculty and select students in a State of the College address given on Fri. Oct. 12. While the President has in the past given some form of an annual report to the college's staff and faculty, this is the first year that a formal State of the College address has been given to a group containing faculty, staff and students.

Whitman to cover application fee for undocumented students

Last fall, Whitman became the first liberal arts school in the nation to issue a statement in support of undocumented students. This fall, the college is putting action behind its words by providing funding for undocumented Whitman students applying for deferral of deportation under the Department of Homeland Security’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

The Whitman administration made significant changes in its procedures for handling sexual assault over the summer, with an emphasis on improved communication with the Walla Walla YWCA and police department.
